Scientifically speaking, Bactrim is a combination of two antibiotics: sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim, which treat different types of infections. - Common side effects of Bactrim are loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, painful or swollen tongue, dizziness, spinning sensation, ringing in your ears, tiredness, or sleep problems (insomnia). More serious side effects are skin rash, yellowing of your skin or eyes, seizure and increased or decreased urination.
