Doxycycline is a dynamic warrior against inflammation and acne-causing bacteria. Not only will it give the one-two to the acne on your face, but it will also clear acne located on your chest and back. In doctor-talk, that means this antibiotic treats and prevents infections by fighting bacteria in your body and will help get active acne under control while topical treatments have time to kick in. Doxycycline will treat blemishes, bumps, and acne-like lesions caused by rosacea, but it will not treat facial redness caused by rosacea.
